King Crimson announced 33 new Summer and Autumn concert dates for 2018 on 22nd November, as part of their “Uncertain Times” tour. The band are currently performing in North America.
The Summer leg of the 2018 tour is set to start on 13th June in Poznan, Poland. The group are then going to visit Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands, before the final show in Venice, Italy on 28th July. In the Autumn, they are going to play in England, Wales, Scotland and France between 29th October and 16th November.
Further dates are expected to be announced. Frontman Jakko Jakszyk previously stated in an interview with 60s Today that they are also going to visit Japan later in 2018.
Two different special packages will be available, in addition to regular tickets. No information has yet been provided on when these are going on sale.
The group’s present “double quartet” line-up featuring three drummers formed in 2013, when guitarist and composer Robert Fripp invited Jakszyk to join on vocals and second guitar. The other members are Mel Collins on flute and saxophone, Tony Levin on bass, Bill Rieflin on keyboards, and Gavin Harrison, Pat Mastelotto and Jeremy Stacey on drums. For the current American tour, Rieflin has been replaced by keyboardist Chris Gibson.
