Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Arie Luyendyk, Jr. was a contestant on the 8th season of The Bachelorette.

He was the runner-up.

He later returned as the Bachelor for the 22nd season of The Bachelor.

The Bachelorette

Arie was the runner-up on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette. On Week 3, he received a rose on a one-on-one date with Maynard, his only one-on-one date of the season. On Week 6, Arie confessed he was in love with Emily. In the finale, after Maynard takes Jef to meet Ricki, she is certain that Jef is the one for her. Not wanting to put Arie through a failed proposal, Maynard eliminates him rather than giving him a final date. Arie was confused and heatbroken, thinking he was certainly going to win Emily’s heart.

The Bachelor

On September 7, 2017 he was revealed to be the next Bachelor for Season 22 on Good Morning America. The official Bachelor Twitter Page narrowed down possibilities for who the Bachelor might be before finally posting the tweet “Bachelor Nation, start your engines! We are proud to announce the next Bachelor will be….@ariejr!”

Personal life

During his season of The Bachelor he fell in love with two women; Becca Kufrin and Lauren Burnham. He ultimately chose to propose to Becca.

“Arie, since I first stepped out of the limo I was in awe of you and just how cool, calm and collected you were, when I was a bundle of nerves. But since our very first conversation you just put me at such ease and made me feel so comfortable. It just felt easy and it felt right and the first date, you allowed me that night to just open up to you and be vulnerable, but there was no judgement there, you just let me be me and I knew I was falling for you and I was falling so hard and so fast and it scared med because I didn’t think that I could feel so deeply for somebody so early on, but you proved me wrong. You’ve made falling in love with you easy, you make being in love with you easy and I don’t want to ever stop loving you, and I love you so, so much and I’m just ready to do this thing with you!” – Becca to Arie

“When I met you I was taken aback, you know, you are beautiful and elegant and… In that first conversation I knew that you were an incredible woman, and I needed to know more. And I think back on our dates, and I think back on meeting your family, and I think back on all the moments that we shared and the thing that stands out is that, we’re a team, you know? And I am very lucky that you’ve been on this journey with me and through all of it you’ve given me so much confidence along the way. Because of that, my love for you is unmeasurable and… This morning I woke up, and I thought about you and I thought you and our kids together, I thought about us when we’re old and I choose you today, but I choose you everyday from here on out. I love you so much! Becca, will you marry me?” – Arie proposing to Becca

A few weeks after filming wrapped, he decided to break off his engagement to pursue Lauren. Arie and Lauren got engaged at the After the Final Rose show.

“I’ve made some bad decisions but the best decision was running back to you. I can’t imagine a life you. You have shown me a love that is patient, a love that is kind and I truly believe you are my soul mate. I’m ready to face this life with you and all that comes with it, good and bad. I love you so much and I wanted to do this in front of everyone because I wanna show you that I should have done this a long time ago. Lauren Elizabeth Burnham, will you marry me?” – Arie proposing to Lauren

Ace Ace Transparent 60stoday.com Name: Ace Nickname: Boss Gender: Male Age: 17 First appearance: Buttercrush Last appearance: The Powerpuff Girls Rule! (main TV series) Episode count: Most of them Voice actor: Jeff Glen BennettOle Fick (Denmark) Family: Gangreen Gang Creator: Craig McCracken

Ace is the leader of the Gangreen Gang.

Personality

Ace is the Gang’s leader and a punk, and a mean-spirited, bullying, opportunistic rogue. When he speaks, he sounds like the typical juvenile delinquent—mean and disrespectful. He has a nasally Italian New Yorker accent. As the Gang’s smartest member, he is the instigator of most of their antisocial activities, and he does possess a certain charismatic charm that allows him to sweet-talk people who ought to know better, such as Buttercup in the episode “Buttercrush.”

Appearance

He is 17 years old – the oldest of the Gang. Ace’s height is 6’1″ tall and he has a long, pointy chin. He sports a long, straight, greasy, slick-back hairdo, a blue and orange vest-jacket, a pair of shades, a thin mustache, and even fangs.

Powers and Abilities

Ace is a natural leader and manipulator, being able to lead the Gangreen Gang into many of their exploits and can take advantage of others, even people like Buttercup and Ms. Keane.

In “Power Lunch,” he temporarily had cryokinesis, the ability to generate ice and snow, similar to Blossom’s ice breath.

Trivia

  • In the Powerpuff story, “Buttercup and the Mind-Reading Juice” it is shown that Ace has aquaphobia, (meaning he’s afraid of water).
    • However, he was able to drink slushies, and it gave him ice powers, as ice also comes from water. Moreover, he was seen in the rain in The Powerpuff Girls Movie. In the anime, he was sitting in a hot tub in one episode. However, this could be considered an alternate universe.
  • Ace has pink eyes, but in the episodes: “Power Lunch” and “Bang for Your Buck” they are turned white. In the episode Bought and Scold his eyes are pink for a few frames and for a few frames white.
  • Ace’s favorite snacks are ice cream, popsicles, and Slurpees (as shown in Power Lunch).
  • In Fusion Fall, he was 25 years old.
  • Ace, as well as the rest of the Gangreen Gang, likes chocolate milk (as seen in the Powerpuff Girls chocolate milk commercial).
  • Ace, as well as the rest of the Gangreen Gang, likes pizza (as seen in Buttercrush, Telephonies, and Live and Let Dynamo).
  • He seems to like a lot of rock music, as seen in Buttercrush. Also, Mr. Wednesday called him and his gang Punks.
  • The whole gang likes pizza (Buttercrush, Live and Let Dynamo, Telephonies).
  • It should be noted that, unlike most villains who go out of their way to create evil plans, Ace only does so when he sees an opportunity — such as exploiting Buttercup’s crush on him, gaining superpowers or teaming up with all the other villains.
  • Most episodes have shown Ace punching Snake (Buttercrush, Schoolhouse Rocked, and Power Lunch).
  • A Gorillaz animation reveals that he has a Switchblade, similar to the one he used in Twisted Sister.
  • Due to complications with their deal with Cartoon Network, Ace was not allowed to speak during his tenure as Gorillaz’s bassist. Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett revealed the music video for “Tranz,” in which Ace is prominently featured, originally included a spoken introduction where Ace would have interacted with the singer 2-D, but the process of getting the dialogue approved by Cartoon Network and bringing Jeff Bennett in to record the lines would have added too much to the budget.[1]

wilson smart core golf ball review | 60S Today

72

Many golfers are unaware of the importance of choosing the right ball. Golf balls can be expensive and it is important to get the most out of your money.

One of the most popular golf balls on the market is the Wilson Smart Core golf ball.

What we will look at in this review is how Wilson Smart Core compares to other leading brands such as Callaway, Titleist, Nike, and Bridgestone.

Wilson Smart Core Golf Ball - Pack of 24 (White)

This review will take an in-depth look at this golf ball and we will touch on important factors such as compression rating, technology, and what level of golfer this if any, would appeal to.

Overview of the Wilson Smart Core

The Wilson Smart-Core golf ball is a distance ball that reacts to the player’s swing speed.

The Smart Core technology in these intelligent distance balls produces spin and control on short shots while minimizing it for long-range accuracy.

With their durable ionomer covers, these smart core balls are designed to last through a variety of course conditions with no loss in playability or feel around the green.

If you’re looking for an intelligence option off the tee combined with performance around every inch of your shot, then these Wilson golf balls could be perfect for you.

Compression Rating of the Wilson Smart Core

The compression rating of the Wilson Smart Core is 85 which is rated as a medium / soft golf ball and is primarily aimed at golfers who have lower to average swing speeds such as beginners, seniors, women, and junior players.

This an excellent golf ball for players who want a softer feel and the ability to achieve more spin around the green from rough shots or chip shots.

Wilson Smart Core Golf Ball - Pack of 24 (White)

It could also have more of a tendency to slice than other balls with harder compression ratings of 90+ but this is conjecture really as every golfer has their own unique style.

Compression Explained in 3 Steps

  1. The compression of a golf ball is the force applied to it and how much it resists that force.
  2. On golf balls, the compression rating is measured on a scale from 1-100, with 100 being the highest possible score.
  3. A low compression golf ball will have more spin and better control than a high compression ball that will travel less on tee and long iron shots.

Features

The ball has 432 dimples which help to reduce drag and increase lift for more distance.

Also, this ball includes the patented “Smart Core” technology from Wilson which is designed to react to the player’s swing speed, yielding spin on short shots and minimizing it on the long shot for maximum distance with control.

The Ionomer cover provides durability through a range of conditions while also having a firm response off the tee (maximizing your power) as well as soft around the green (extra feel).

Again, If you have lower or average swing speeds that range in the 80 to 95MPH bracket then this is an excellent golf ball choice.

It will give you a softer feel but still provide some performance benefits such as increased spin when chipping from rough or putting near hole edges.

Pros

  • Technology – The Smart-Core technology is unique, patented and reacts to a golfer’s swing speed.
  • Spin Control – The softer inner core allows the ball to compress, including on off-center hits for more spin and control around the green.
  • Distance and Accuracy – The firmer outer layer provides long-distance with a minimal spin for maximum distance on drives and irons shots.
  • Durability – This durable Ionomer cover helps maintain the ball’s soft feel through a range of weather conditions whilst still maintaining a harder shell for added toughness.
  • Compression – The medium but firm compression rating delivers maximum distance off the tee while providing an exceptional feel around the greens.
  • Price – Great value and one of the best golf balls for the money.

Cons

  • May be too soft for long hitters.
  • Only available in white.
  • Short game – these may spin too much for some players.

FAQS – Common Questions Answered

How many balls come in a standard pack?

Most places ship the Wilson Smart Core in two-dozen packs (24 balls) with each sleeve containing 3 balls.

Are these two-piece golf balls?

Yes, these are 2 pieces that consist of the harder solid core surrounded by a hard covering.

I’m a high handicapper – are these too soft?

No, the golf balls are not too soft for a high handicapper as the compression is medium rated and this helps with adding extra distance for slower swings whilst still maintaining decent spin for wedge shots near the green.

These seem very cheap compared to Callaway or Titleist, what gives?

It’s a competitive market and at the budget end, there is higher competition which benefits us, the golfers!

If you are concerned, try these out on the practice range first, we think you will be pleasantly surprised at how well these balls perform.

The Final Verdict on the Wilson Smart Core

Wilson’s created the perfect ball for the average golfer – and we don’t mean “average” as in mediocre, either!

With its patented Smart-Core formula and ionomer cover that provides players a luxurious feel around the green, Wilson has designed a golf ball uniquely custom-tuned to act on what matters most – your swing speed.

Wilson Smart Core Golf Ball - Pack of 24 (White)

Because if you’re not going to invest time into practicing accuracy off the tee or developing an easy rotation from 100 yards out, at least make sure you can trust your golf ball to respond to the shots that really matter.

And we think it’s safe to say, with a long list of pros and a few cons, Wilson has done just that.

So if you’re looking for an affordable yet quality golf ball from a reputable company – look no further than Wilson Smart Core!
